Hoo boy-now that was quick enough to make yer head spin!

I freely admit I been more than lazy re: selling my 1920 over the last couple months. Finally last week, I got a wild hair, got busy and cleaned 'er up real good with the pressure washer. Had to dig up a For Sale sign and yesterday stuck it out in the front yard...

And on the second day, it is GONE!

Didn't think it would take long but jeez, that was quick! I sure am gonna miss that tractor(sniff!)

But I reckon the local LS dealer will do his utmost to help me to get over it-LOL!

Would like to say I got my first offer recently but was rather disappointed. My father knows this guy (he and Dad have bought and sold stuff back and forth in the past and this guy dabbles in buying and selling tractors) who might be interested in it and gave me his number, I called him and told him all the details along with my asking price ($12,900). He seemed to be quite interested as he knows the machine from when my uncle bought it new and knows most of it's history. Said he wanted to see it and as I had to be out of town that day I gave him directions and told him where to find the key. Later on that day wife calls me whilst I'm on the road and says he called back telling her if I wanted more than $10K he just wasn't very interested...

Has the small tractor market tanked or what? I know at that price there wasn't 'much meat left on the bone' for him but I was willing to entertain an offer-just not one quite that low.

So I reckon I'll wash 'er up and maybe wax it, then set it out in the front yard with a sign on it and see what happens. Lots of wealthy retirees around here so I really don't expect it will sit very long.

Thanks much for the response and advice. I'll keep y'all posted.

Not sure that you will get near your asking price (I'm not familiar with NH tractor re-sales), but bear in mind the guy that looked at the tractor sounds like he is essentially a dealer. In short, he's looking to buy low and sell high for profit, so you would probably do best to advertise it and start at your asking price. If you get no lookers, you can always drop the price. Check the same model tractor at TractorHouse.com, there should be some of the same model there and you can get an idea of what your model is going for. Good luck.

You're a little late, he already sold it

By the way, OP...

I just recently learned that Daedong (Kioti) bought the rights and tooling from Shibaura, for Shibaura's SCUT's. So, the Kioti SCUT's (CS models) are Daedong built Shibaura SCUT's. And ironically, now the NH sold SCUT's are actually built by LS.

Tangled web.

But, if you still want something close to a Shibaura, and a SCUT will handle your work, you might want to checkout a Kioti.

Actually stopped by the local NH/JD dealer last Sunday(they were closed-I wanted it that way) mainly to peruse the small NH line to see how LS builds 'em and there were none to be had. He only had about 3 NHs total and all were far too large for my needs.

Plenty of JDs and Kubotas (tho not very many SCUTs of either brand) Then I got my hopes up as I stumbled up on a used Kubota backhoe package that looked to be perfect then I saw a sold banner tied to the steering wheel. Ah, the story of my life...

Oh well, I'm not in that big of a hurry. Am seeing good things re: TYM and Mahindra -might have to add them to the go-look-at list, just wish the TYM dealer was closer. My cousin has an older, larger Mahindra -he swears by it. Also found a Branson dealer and want to look at Kioti if I can before making any decision.

Now I keep finding little things around here I should have done before letting mine go...GRRR!!
