Double Post, Double Post....I'm seeing Double

So far this morning, 4 out of 5 postings have been doubled.

I think it may have something to do with a delay and the posting doesn't seem to go through so we hit it again. I have done that in the past.

I recheck after I post and if there is a duplicate, I delete the second one. Or sometimes the first one.

If you use the new posts option, and use Firefox, I've found that using the pulldown menu and going back to the search results page instead of the back button alleviates the double post issue. Which only occurs when it hangs and the "leave page" dialog box appears.

I use Firefox and am getting real,y frustrated with the double posts. I don't hit the save button more than once. It just hangs and double posts. I think the server is too slow and can't handle the volume.

I finally gave up deleting the doubled posts. If it wants to double post, so be it, I'm not deleting them anymore.

I've never heard a mod or administrator address the issue on this site either.

Too bad, because it's one of the nicest sites with the most useful info and nicest people I've come across.

Same here, just delete one and go on.... or don't delete one... it just doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.:confused3:

My iPad flashes a warning that it is a double post. I cancel the post and then hit refresh page. Only one post shows up.

I started being real careful that I'm not hitting enter twice. Most of my posts still post double.

Composed and posted at once, composed and edited through a couple of drafts before posting, abandoned draft restored from auto-saved and posted, makes no difference, near everything posts double.

That post I just made appeared to post properly, it was the final post in the thread.

On a hunch I refreshed the screen and found the draft of it had appeared in the Quick Reply box below the post. Then deleting that draft made it disappear.

Yep, no incentive to fix something that only helps TBN record extra posting activity. It might have been programmed in....

Yep, trying to get to 5 million posts.

I always suspected that Firefox doesn't play so nice with VBulletin or vice versa. (IE'x' works better than FF with many Java-based sites, btw, but MS and Oracle have been seen leaving a cheap motel ...)

Over at PM (also a VB site) double posts come in waves from time to time.

I've never had a double-post myself, but I've seen countless numbers of them from others.

Now, within the last week, I am seeing situations where the duplicate post appears hours after the first; in one instance 10 hours between original post and it's duplicate. Most of them however appear to be the "conventional" immediate double-post.

There should be a contest - predict the time of the first Triple-Post.
