If you never been adopted and/or served by any of the LGD breeds, you can not fathom the depth of their commitment to protect their flock. Nice, gentle dogs until it is time, then mostly use minimum force required. Very rarely do they make mistakes with level of their response.

I have mutts, Great Pyrenees/Karakachan and Great Pyrenees/Anatolian. I think I'll let my oldest part Karakahan breed my part Anatolian, should get some really nice pups out of that pair.

This is my sweetheart watching me through the windows of a building I was in and waiting for me to come out. I'll peek out and she never takes her eyes off the door till I come out. She's a 37 lb full grown field Springer Spaniel. What a dog.


Here she is in her favorite chair and just has to be in the same room we're in.


Watching out the window in search of the elusive rabbit she cannot seem to catch. Always close but no cigar.

What breed are your dogs? I'm always impressed. Very smart and well behaved.

They are mutts, we train them and we get them out for exercise like all dogs need. A tired dog is a good dog. One is a kelpie-blue healer and the other is a border collie but she was given up to a shelter, so they didn't really know. Thank you for your kind words.

Duke's my main man! He's the one with the red bandana. I've had him for about 7 years now. The Husky (Durotan) we've had for 5 years or so, and then Dixie, our German Wirehair pointer puppy is a few months old and not very good at staying still for photos!
