We traveled to Spooner WI yesterday and picked up a 6 month old that was "sorta" rescued.

meeting more new friendly poeople.

Now the real fun starts.

This was there 2nd ski of the day. By the time we got back to the car, some dogs were getting tired.

We do have a Keweenaw snow photos thread on TBN where a few folks in this area post pics.

Snow depth so far in the UP as of now. Note that Calumet, Dollar bay and Houghton county numbers are that would apply to us here in the city of Houghton area. Here in Houghton, we average around 230.

No booties for your pups? Mine gets them put on when it's 20F or below. Otherwise, he starts lifting his paws on his walks. He's gotten used to 'em and walks pretty well with them on. They also protect his paws from soybean stubble.

We do used booties but it wasn't cool to enough to warrant them in these photos.

I should add that this young pup was put on the roof because she certainty didn't want to be put there. This was to train her that we will protect her and she must do as we command.

Same as being on this most scary dead-fall.

I never realized that. One thing I quickly learned is that a throw dummy which barely tops the water surface may be easily visible to me standing on shore, yet almost impossible to see when he/she is swimming toward it with eyes just inches above the water.

Here is a few recent dog pics. For the folks who follow the Keweenaw snow thread here on TBN, some with be the same.

At a MI Department of Natural Resources offices in Twin Lakes, we stopped to ski the trails there and bumped into a employee who had his dog along. Things went crazy!

Chase, growl, bark, repeat. Socialized dogs are good ones.

Dolly, our new 30lb pup was chasing her as well.. His dog might have weighted 70lbs...

Now out skiing there.

Not sure why this ancient sign is still up. The fellow in the above pic with his dog, we think is the manager.

Oh the same day as the above photos, we stopped at Courtney Lake campground where the Ottawa NF grooms a bit. This is all near Mass City MI.

Back to the parking lot. Well exercised dogs are good ones.
