Our dog gets treats every time she comes in the house (when we call or when she comes and is known to have been a "good girl"). She is to stay outside until we un-dawn gear and get ready for her onslaught- need to toss out the arresting gear- my arm! She can get all goofy and try to run around and jump on stuff she ought not to when she's wet (a 95 lb wet missile)! Have to get her toweled off. If she is good she gets a treat. And even IF she hasn't been good she'll settle down (what happened to to rambunctious, crazy dog?), sit and then stare at you in that same "OK, what about the treat now?" look.

You're much braver than we are. We barely survived raising ONE pup!

Our dog gets treats for good acts such as urinating where she's supposed to as well but some days she'll come with me to the mailbox and then stares at me "hey, where's my treat?" I tell her why but you wonder if they understand why....
