Hate to see losing two friends. Such sweethearts. Good dogs should live longer. Probably should outlive most people. They are such good friends and innocent and dedicated. nice picture.

NOoo, not sleeping on the couch - guarding the homestead - protecting your interest - alert, and eyes open - on the job.
My father-in-law once asked me, why do you like that dog so much. I said - it treats me so well. Then he said, well doesn't my daughter treat you ok. I said Sure. But if you want to know who really likes you, put your wife and your dog in the trunk of the car. Come back in an hour and see which one is glad to see you!
Now, there is a thinker. Comtemplating the problems of HIS world.
And that, my friend, is part of the cycle of life. At it's best. Oh, by the way, we have a king bed. And the dog sleeps in the bed with us. But I am not sure it helps. Just gives the dog more room to claim before I get there. Ha

Sorry to hear that about your little ones. I like my medium sized border collie and cattle dog but I also like my wife's chihuahua a lot. The little guys love the rides and the laptime. Take care and be comforted that you gave them both long lives and a good home.

Some breeds simply can't be trusted...

Dogs personalities vary as much as peoples do. A few can't be trusted but the vast majority can be trained and trusted. Below is a few over the years we've had. All were trained. No shock colliers used.Not to detract from a great thread (all dog pics are good)...but it's important to be aware...

Since you guys like them, here is a few more. Most taken on my folks farm. In the 1st one, Wally was told to get up there. It was sooooo scary. Its good to make mutts do things, they don't wnat to.
These beasts were BIG and fearless, so he didn't last long at that position. The cows noted right away it wasn't the usual boarder collie watching the gate.
Some friends kids we bumped into while on the road. Kids and dogs, go together like peanut butter and jelly!
