They're in their element there. "Why do you think we've got these big paws and heavy fur coats?"

Had to put my 16 year old German Shorthair down last week. Still painful as she was still getting around but couldn't control her bladder or bowels. I had moved her inside a couple years ago and it just got to be too much. She stayed in an unfinished room in the basement.

Last summer I was on a fishing trip and her sister (i've had both since puppies) couldn't get up. Wife took her to the vet and one shoulder was cancerous. She had to be put down. For some reason that one was easier to deal with since I was not there.

We are down to our Australian Shepherd / Blue healer mix now. He's a great companion.

I am very sorry.

We lost our dog in April after 14 years. He was a great friend. He died running in the field which was his greatest love. We miss him very much but get happiness knowing he didn’t suffer and was doing what he loved.

Sorry to hear that.

Our pit, she'll be to next month. Sometimes she gets her nose about 1" away from the pull cords on the fan. :dance1:

Reminds me of our Boston Terrier. The girls had a tether ball in the back yard; the pole was set in concrete. Our Boston, Mr. Muggs, would play tether ball by himself, and got to where he would hold on to the ball with his teeth and swing around the pole...until one day the pole broke off; he had managed to fatigue the pole to the point of failure.

We had a dog as kids that would grab a sock and you could carry her around the house clamped on to the sock.

Poor dog lost her teeth at around 8 years old and had to eat canned food. I think us kids caused that to happen.

That’s awesome, I need to build something for her. She’s very athletic, super fast, loves climbing, she’s great fun and the best cuddler!

When I play tug with her, I can pick her up and she just hangs there holding the toy wagging her tail. At 58lbs, I cant hold her up too long hahaha

Yikes, hopefully that was just a freak thing. Never heard of that before.

If they like to play ball, tell the kids not to kick the ball; sooner or later they will kick the dog in the mouth; an easy way to lose teeth.

Here's a couple of pics of the girls...My apologies if I've posted them before.

Here's the little girl I found under my camper the other nite, 22 degrees, starving, scarred and scared. She doing pretty good. If she and rufus can work it out, she might have found anew home.

I said......no more dogs or women, now I got a female dog!

I've had Golden Retrievers my whole life, usually two at a time, so I'm getting up there in numbers. This is my boy Denny from the summer of 2016, one of my favourite dog photos ever. He'll be five this year. His older buddy who showed him the ropes died a little over two years ago, and now, with some gray showing up on his muzzle, it's time for him to take a turn. So a new puppy this year.

I don't think I've ever met a person that I liked as much as my dogs.
