Neighbors large male malamute got out and spent the afternoon with my dogs until the family got home and I could give him back. Big slobbering guy made my Border Collie and Healer look like pipsqueaks.

I put a leash on him to take him home and that guy pulled like a clydesdale.

Well, that is what they're bred for....

Our Newfies were well behaved, but could pull like nothing I ever walked behind before- thankfully, it was predictable- they pulled toward any water they could find.

Our Irish Wolfhound and English Mastiff [they were owned in separate decades of our lives w/ dogs, so no wars fought] on the other hand could be walked with a piece of string or yarn, or just whatever token of control was laying around...

Yup Brother and sister, twins as well. Both have the exact same markings only difference is the male is a little redder in color. The female in the middle is ours.

The male who keeps laying claim to my spot is our daughters. We've been dog sitting for the past week. And making sure he's a spoiled brat when he goes home

Going on three weeks now with the Grand-dog Had to call my daughter last night and see if she was actually gonna get him back Good and spoiled bow though. Has his spot on the bed when we sleep, knows what to do to get some extra treats when we are eating Almost has the "eyes" down packed. Plenty of time chasing the ball at night. Only issue with that is with two of them going after balls, I threw my shoulder out Docs on Friday to see what's wrong with that.

He also knows when it's time for the nightly walk.

It is fun to "sick" them on my wife just before I leave for work in the mornings

Mine take over my 1/3 of the bed when I leave and get their own blankets covering them- we just got them to sleep out in the living room over the summer- and I really like having our bed back to sleep alone together in.

Our Irish Wolfhound and English Mastiff [they were owned in separate decades of our lives w/ dogs, so no wars fought] on the other hand could be walked with a piece of string or yarn, or just whatever token of control was laying around...

I've had wolfhounds for over 25 years now.....got two laying beside me as I type this.....and I'll agree they are fairly easy to walk on the lead......until they see something they want to chase.....that first step is amazingly fast and powerful and is more of a lunge of 10' thru the air......you are going to be pulled along with them for a while....lol......at their size you are not going to out-muscle them......the biggest surprise I've had with this breed is their speed......on a straight line run they are as fast as our ex-racer greyhound......change of direction is a whole different story......so if you have a wolfhound running towards you just get the heck out of the way......it's like getting hit by a freight train.......I've had a few hospital emergency room visits......lol.......Jack

She is dirty and needs bathed.... but trust me... that is no simple task with this dog. She thinks that you are trying to kill her if you bathe her. It takes 3 people. But fall is coming, it is time to do the deed, no matter if she agrees or not!

It is some sort of Labrador mix, but she is deathly afraid of water. Even rain. I've had dogs for 40 years and never something like this. We suspect that her original abusive owner may have used a water hose as a punishment and now she relates water to being hurt... since he beat the heck out of her head. Her ears are all hard scar tissue, the vet suspects from being punched/kicked in the head many times.

X2 on the kiddie pool Son had a yellow lab and he would get in the kiddie pool and roll around in it for hours.

Our Shepherd hates baths. But loves chasing a water spray outside. So I where her out chasing the water spray and get her soaked up good. Then climb into the kiddie pool and give her a bath after the fights been worn out or her.

If you try to bath her in the tub, it looks like a water bomb went off in the bsthroom and takes two people for the bath.

Wife had a wolf hound when she was living by herself in her first apartment. This was in Houston. Guy tried breaking into her apartment. Wife opened her bedroom door, let the dog out, then closed and locked the door and called 911.

Police came and get her 10 minutes later. The wolf hound had the guy pinned in the park by his throat and wouldn't release the guy.

She had to keep the dog at her grandmother's after that. Her grandmother was walking out to feed the dog when she passed away. Dog was chained to the back bumper of a junker Toyota pickup missing the axles and sitting on the ground.

When they found her grandmother, the wolf hound was laying next to her crying and howling up a storm. The dog dragged the truck 40ft to get to her grandmother's side.

I had a wolfhound in my younger years. I used to let him chase deer on the local golf course. He could clear 6’ fence with no problem.

Our 6 month old Karakachan LGD dogs. Named after snowmobile trail groomers, Tucker and Bombi. Next week they will start their training to be with the sheep.

Those who mistreat animals may have deep problems and often show up later in life mistreating humans that can't defend themselves.
