This is Bill a.k.a. Superman, he fears nothing......other than the vacuum cleaner. Likes to kill snakes. One day he killed the garden hose by mistake...it is black, now it has holes in it.

After 16 years.....Bill left today.
A dutiful watchdog but lovable companion, you could not hope for a better dog.
He was the end of an era, his mom and sister left 3 years earlier. Today is a very sad day for sure.

I was 10 years old when I saw my neighbor run over my dog, Spot. In a horrific flash, Spot went under the tire, thrashed around in the front yard for a few seconds and then collapsed in the ditch. I screamed out his name and ran to his side, hoping that I could somehow stop the inevitable.

A trickle of blood was running out of his mouth when I reached him, and when I laid my head on his chest, he gave one last whimper and died. I lay in the grass next to him and wept.

After our makeshift funeral that evening, I asked my dad whether Spot would be in heaven. He said something complicated about the possibility of animals having souls, but it just sounded like a bunch of grownup talk to me. So I went to bed figuring I would never see my dog again. But within a few hours, I changed my mind.

That night, I had a dream that I still remember to this day: Spot was in heaven, and he was walking alongside a tall, bearded man in a robe. I thought it was probably Moses.

That was all there was to the dream, but when I awoke the next morning, it was enough to convince me that I would eventually see Spot again. I went to the kitchen to get breakfast, and my brother Caleb joined me.

“I had a dream about Spot last night,” he said. “Spot was in heaven, and he was walking beside a man with a beard who looked like he was one of the disciples. I think God was trying to show me that Spot is in heaven.”

“I had the same dream!” I said excitedly, although I wasn’t exactly surprised. It seemed like something perfectly reasonable for God to do to assure us we would see our beloved dog again one day.

Twenty-seven years have passed since my brother and I had our joint dream about Spot. And although I still have a lot of unanswered questions about the afterlife, I’m certain of two things: Heaven is real, and when I get there, Spot will be waiting for me.

Dog peers out of semi after smashing rig into tree, car

One dog’s newest trick is crashing a semi-truck after taking it for a short joyride.

Police in Mankato, Minn., say a golden Labrador retriever put the idling truck into gear Friday, and then went through a parking lot, across the street and over a curb at a Kwik Trip gas station.

One witness snapped the dog peering out the driver’s side window after the semi smashed into a tree and a parked car near the gas pumps, Fox 9 reported.

“In my career I’ve not had an accident reported like this one,” Mankato police officer Daniel Schisel told the station.

No one was hurt, including the dog, the station reported.

No citations were issued to the driver of the semi who had left the unoccupied truck running with the dog inside.

Police did impound the rig.

If things work out, I'm giving two Boston Terriers a new home this coming week. Their owner died suddenly and they are very close. The rescue agency didn't want to split them up, so they are coming to a new home together. The one on the left is a boy age 7, the one on the right is his mom age 10. I'm driving 1300 miles round trip to get them.

They are in their latter years of life and deserve a good home to spend the rest of their lives together.

We also adopted a brother and sister pair like that and they have been the best dogs we have ever owned. Once they acclimated to the new situation they seem to know that we rescued them. We are now BFF's.

There is nothing like the love and devotion of a dog..except the love and devotion of its master.
A happy dog is always in heaven. It is where they come from, and where they go to, and what they share with us every day. I grieve for your loss. Be comforted by your memory of him.

Two of these are my rescue dogs. They are actually high end dogs that someone else put up for adoption. Now they have a great home, comfy beds, four star dog food and room to run. Dog bones almost on command. They rarely let me out of their sight.
