"Dogs Welcome?"

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation.

He wrote: I would very much like to bring my dog with me.

He is well-groomed

And very well behaved.

Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"

An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote:

SIR: "I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls.

I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly.

And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill.

Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel.

And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too."

Tullamore (Tully) age 3, started his sidecar training last autumn. When Barley retires in a couple of years my hope is that Tully will become my new sidecar adventure dog.

Similar coloring to my cattle dog. Yours is larger, however. Mine won't leave anything that is moving alone. Or not moving either for that matter. Great dog.

Good looking dog you've got!

Mine has turned out to be useless as a cattle dog. She came from good working stock but won't even look at a cow. She has no clue. Even when my male is working she shows no interest. She is a good farm dog, will ride the tractor all day but no cattle dog.

She isn't fat but is a big girl at 57 lbs, she weighs more than my 10 year old male.

Some good looking dogs in the last few posts. Don't want to single any out because they are all good looking. :)

Our Yellow Lab Sadie treated herself to 50 Peanut Butter cookies yesterday. She was able to get them high up the counter. Thankfully she ok and took a long nap

Mine definitely is a heeler. Her mouth quivers when she gets near hooves or tires for that matter. She pushes the cattle back when I have to go into the herd, and moves them along when I don't call her off. The bulls don't move for her, but at least she takes their attention off of me. They eventually move to catch up with the cows.

One of my Springers grabbed piece of pizza right out of my father-in-law's hand as he was saying grace. FIL ate with his arm surrounding his plate after that so he could guard his dinner.

Many, many moons ago my friend's Newfoundland ate a whole 5 lb. box of See's Candies. Panicked Christmas Day trip to the emergency vet for a stomach pump and all was well with Maggie - my friend's checkbook needed a longer recovery period. For a day or so they found all kinds of sparkly foil bits in the backyard deposits.

Maggie was a sweet old girl who lived to be 13. That's a mighty good run for such a huge dog.

We once had a big orange tabby cat who would sneak under the table and reach up to hook stuff off your plate. We never warned guests about it, which was great fun. For us & the cat at least.

That should teach your FIL to not start eating until grace has been said
