Ruger doesn't get on the furniture. I made that mistake with my last dog, and never could understand how a 75 lb lab could take up an entire bed. When checking into a motel she would often get the queen sized, and I would get the twin. She wasn't spoiled.... 
I always carried a clean blanket when traveling, to keep the fur off from their bed coverings.

My cattle dog and border collie are floor dogs. They have enough dog beds around the place that they do not need to think about getting on furniture. My wifes chihuahua is another story but at a whopping 5 lbs she is hardly noticed.

I'm right there with you all of our dogs have been floor dogs or dirt dogs. Our bed is not for animals. I had shut the tractor off for like 2 minutes to get something to drink and he found the shade

You need to grease that zerk. It looks a bit dry.... LOL. My pups love getting under things too. Always have to check before I move them.

It was just lubed 20 hours ago i generally go over zirc fittings with a rag and remove excess grease. I use a grey moly grease in my loader it is physically impossible to wash out of clothing so everything gets cleaned up after lube time

Yeah, you need to clean off after greasing if you have a white dog. Ask me how I know. LOL

I just lost this little guy Wednesday to cancer. We rescued him 5 years ago. He was with me all the time and the house is empty without his happy energy.

That's exactly what I thought when I lost my last one. I swore I wouldn't put myself through that again. I missed him daily.
After a couple of months, I started to think that while I couldn't replace him, it might be good to have another, and I got a new pup. He's definitely not the same, but he has his own distinct personality, and I love him just as much. You sound like a "dog person". When the time is right (for you) - sooner rather than later, get another!
I know exactly how you feel. A couple years ago I lost my Weimariner after 13 years. He was with me every day. Always by my side. I was devistated...Couldnt even think about getting another one. Then one night I was clicking around on Facebook and found a post where someone in Tennessee was getting rid of a 9-10 month old Weim ...because he is the "wrong color"!!! ...There was something about the picture of him that grabbed me. I made arrangements to have him brought to Mass and he is 100% a part of the family now. He has a completely different personality than my last whim..and thats fine. He makes me smile everyday and gives more than he gets. On another post here somewhere I said that a dogs only fault, is that one day they will break your heart. I still believe that to be true. I have my past doberman and Weims paw prints tattooed on my body..They are still always with me.
