Had to give my "Old Guy", Chief his final trip the vet yesterday, at 14 years old, his eyesight & hearing were gone, his hind legs were giving out so it was time. View attachment 618885 Didn't make it any easier though.

14 years is a good run for a dalmation. Mine made it till 13, but she was bad and we had to take her in.

That's exactly my point. A smart dog gets bored and looks for things to do. A dog with less smarts is willing to lay around waiting for you to come home.

Yup, the house we just sold took 21 gallons(Cedar at $65 gal) of Sikkens every 5 yrs. Not gonna miss that.

This is our second. First one got lymphoma 7 years ago. The twins are 8 and having a blast with the puppy. I think I'm too old for it. Had me up at 4 last night.
