I have a herd of about 40 deer on my property through out the winter months. Love watching them. I have a stand of pines they yard together in and there is good eating nearby.

I think they yard up here because the coyotes wont come around because of my shepherd, he watches the deer all day long. A small buck is kinda friendly with him, they are sometimes three feet between my fence, the dog and deer, pretty interesting how they get along..

First flower garden I planted, the deer ate everything. The second flower garden I planted, I used only deer resistant plants, and the deer ate everything anyway. The third flower garden...... I got a dog. :)

This is the first place I have lived without deer. Being on the saltwater helps, they do not go down to drink it and they do not come in from that direction. Only seen 1 since 2015

Nice, I had 5 mule does greet me this morning when I showed up to work. I usually have whitetails at home, but my neighbors dog has all but chased off all the critters. Time to shoot the neighbor.... LOL. Can't really blame the dog.

Yeah, that herd looks about like our "crew". They often sleep and play on my mulch pile.

We don't have that many coming around and they have never in 40 years done any harm to our flowers or garden. I probably just jinxed myself but for now we enjoy watching them when they show.

Ours have eaten just about everything she has ever planted except barberry bushes (lots of little thorns) and jonquils (poison). They especially like anything that is listed as "deer resistant" :)

We had a man killed by his pet deer last week and his wife seriously injured, not sure what happened but I'm guessing he would have been gored.
We see some at home but can't get close to them, it is unusual to see them but they would be refugees from the forest fires we had recently that were about 20km away, they stand amongst the cattle and kangaroos.

I had one go after one of my dogs once after the dog ran it and its fawn into the woods. Momma came back with vengeance in its eye as the dog was returning to me.
I figured this would not be good and headed straight towards the deer and did the same thing I do when cattle are headed my way. It worked and all was well.

I walked outside one evening during the rut with a "rattle can" of paint I was mixing, getting ready to spray paint something. A buck with a nice rack came running up towards me ready to fight. I shouted at him and he ran away. But it made me think about using a rattle can during the rut. I wouldn't really like to be on the wrong end of a set of antlers.
