Forks Does anyone make 3 Point Forks for pallet lifting

I was wondering if anyone knew a maker of pallet lifting forks that attach on the back of a tractor 3 point hitch for light moving of pallets. I can't justify a skid steer for the ocassional lift. It would be especially helpful to find a distributor in SW Michigan.

King Kutter makes a 3 pt pallet mover.
Check with your local Tractor Supply.

Yes they do. Last I checked the pallet forks were under $100, as I recall.

Rich and fishman,

I think the Carry All is about $100. That's what I have, and it does work for pallets. But the Pallet Mover is a lot heavier duty - rated for 2000# vs. 1000# for the Carry All.

Yep, I bought the pallet mover after I bent up my carryall. My TSC does not stock the pallet mover so I had to pay for shipping. Cost me about $250 with tax and shipping.

I already had the carry all which was rated for 500#. It didn't cut it for the lumber I haul and began to bend. My TSC doesn't stock the 2000# rated PM-15 King Kutter pallet mover either, but they gave me a rain check and quoted me $199 to arrive on the next truck. It should come in ten days.

Good choice. I had forgotten the prices, but I do remember looking at the carryall. Not very sturdy as I recall. The bale spears looked very substantial, and were priced similarly to what you are paying for the pallet forks. Hopefully they are similarly constructed.

Neat Idea. I had considered the forks but I couldn't figure out how to attach them. I home my carry-all isn't too bent to salvage. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I looked at the bail spears today and my concern was the weight of the bail spears for my Ford 2000 combined with the loads of lumber I move. It was rated for 2500# as I recall and looked even more substantial than the pallet mover. It would even be better for my application because of the wider forks, but it looked alot heavier. King Kutter didn't post the weight either.

It took over 1 month for TSC to get in the pallet lifter, but it looks pretty nice. They did forget one end cover.

As much as I hate to defend some KK stuff... the carry-all I have will hold more than my NAA will lift (yes it works properly). The key to the carry-all is building a proper box. My box was built from 1" thick post-oak and weighs 250-300# empty. Box is 60" wide and approx 45" tall and I can fill it with osage orange (heavy wood) no problemo. As a pair of forks though, don't think they'd do much.

I'd like to move pallets, but "real" 3pt forks are in the $300-$400 range if I recall. I'll use by box, and restack my wood. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Just fyi... today I picked up a red carry-all at TSC (just north of San Antonio) discounted to $56. Seems well built, now I've got to cut and mount a few 2x6" boards and she'll be ready for work.

The TSC yellow fork was going for about $250.

I have a set of the carry-all forks that I use to move things around with. I put a 6 foot wide pallet on the forks, and I drive around picking up downed tree limbs and such back to my burn pile.

At work, we had several of the Buckhorn containers that were being thrown away, only because they weren't the same size as the rest of the ones in the warehouse and therefore weren't stackable. I brought those home, and I store my miscellaneous junk in them. Then I use my forks to move my junk around as needed...

I got the cheapo KK carry all and I have no complaints about it. I've had about 500 lbs on it and that is about the most I would want to put on it. You can put a bigger pallet on it (the holes are too close together on the small ones) but the "forks" are too thick (nearly as thick as the holes in the pallet) to pick up a loaded one with the tractor. I just use a pallet because I haven't gotten around to making a permanent deck for it.
