Dodge and Cummins No More????

I agree, but the 5.9L is the big Kahuna of diesel pickup engines. The 6.7L is a newer adaptation that looks promising.

Can't imagine what MB could offer that the typical blue-collar truck puller or racer could afford & modify for the truck pulls at the County Fair or the strip.

You're talking about a cult following here, bigger than any Mustang, Corvette following, too.

My prediction is that if Cummins goes, so goes 75% of their diesel truck sales.

I thought the contract termination was standard part of bankruptcy, and assume that they would sign a new one? I agree, if Dodge did loose Cummins, their Ram Sales would plummet.

The Mercedes diesel was planned for the 4500/5500 Rams. They should still do it, leaps and bounds better than Cummins.

Don't know about that. JD Powers rated MB as the least reliable vehicle.

That is JD power, they are over rated. I do not let the media buy vehicles for me, it is what I read in wonderful places like this that dictate it. :)

I would start to think "Iveco" for a nice 1/2 ton diesel in the next 1/2 ton FIAT/Dodge RAM.

Seriously, I think the next one of the Big 3 that offers a ~25MPG 1/2 ton diesel will really enjoy some nice future sales numbers.

Anyone seen the new Audi diesel ads? Pretty cool.

Iveco makes some sweet engines. I am so sad that GM shelved the BabyMax, as I would love a diesel, and really only need a 1500, like the one I have now.

Time will tell.

are all the bugs worked out of the 6.7 Cummins? i read where they had some issues but others stated the 08's and up aren't having any problems. can anyone shed any light on this? from what i read, the 6.7 is also complient with 2010 emmisions, so i guess it's here to stay for awhile like the 5.9 was.
