Pair of tractors is my suggestion! While rated for it, my
M7040 probably wouldn't pick it up as the hydraulics seem to be weaker than the advertised amount, though I have never tested it against the actual specs to confirm that.
Due to the length of the pallet overhang, you probably aren't going to get a good straight shot on the pallet anyway, so having another tractor on site is a good idea. Also, I would seriously consider having at least a pair of slings to pick up the ends with, in case the building overhangs the pallet and the driver has to pull forward, or you have to slide it out. Slings do a lot less damage than forks to the building in the case of them slipping as you pull the building out of the trailer.
Ask the delivery company if an open side or a flatbed trailer is available for this delivery! Also, look at the pallet ON THE TRUCK before you ever touch it with your tractor, as forklifts at LTL terminals aren't made to handle excessive lengths that don't fit a standard pallet, and there is a good chance that they shoved it from one end or the other during the load/unload process. Also remember, it will have been handled several times, because the LTL companies use a HUB to accept all deliveries, and then transload them to the trailer going to your ZIP Code.
Good luck, David from jax
