Tiller Do you have a TILLER from CORRIHER or CCM?

All the ones I have seen have 4 tines per flange. The number of flanges do seem to vary.

When I started looking I figured tillers were all 4 tines per flange but I am seeing about half of the current models having 6. On an average 48-50" tiller (like the Befco T40 I saw) you'll have 24 tines (4 tines x 6 flanges). On the CCM MR145 (49") you'll have 36 tines (6 tines x 6 flanges). I saw some discussion in another thread as to whether it takes more or less HP to turn the tillers w/6 TPF vs the 4 TPF and the way I understood was that the 6 TPF units actually required less HP. To me I would have to expect better performance in less passes with a 6 TPF unit.

What do you think of the landpride tiller?

I picked up a used Ortolan L-100 ( www.ortolan.net ) with new tines for 500 when I bought my tractor. The same tiller is sold under the gearmore name ( www.gearmore.com ). It is a bit much for my little kubota b7200, but I manage. It works a heck of a lot better than any of the walk behinds I have used.

I think it is a pretty nice tiller with a crummy paint job! I like the fact that I can offset the tiller to either side of the tractor. I like the size of the unit because it will work for either of my 2 tractors, and I like the fact that I got it at less than 1/2 the asking price that I usually saw it selling for - and that was the main reason I got it.

Around the area where I'm at, I see mostly Howard, Kuhn, Landpride and Woods tillers. There are local dealers for all these brands close by so I think most people around here buy local. I bought a Howard after looking at the various brands.

Egon, I have a Farm King snowblower and love it. For some reason the dealers near me who sell Farm King snowblowers do not seem to offer any other equipment from Buhler/Allied/Farm King. Or at least they don't stock them on their lots/showrooms. I suppose they'd order them. But every fall there are two dealers here that place several Farm King snowblowers right out front on their lots.

I got the tiller to fit my BX22. It's Howard's 200 series Rotavator. It replaces their model HR3 tiller of last year. From what I can see, same tiller only red instead of orange with two added saftey plates bolted to the front bar plus some side shields that you can bolt on if you want. I have the 50" version. It comes in a 42" and I believe, a 34" also.

It wasn't cheap, I was in the $1,400-1,500.00 range by the time all was said and done. I like to look at equipment first before I put up my money so I stay with the local dealers for large purchases. The dealer it came from is one of the ones we dealt with when I was farming so I know if I need anything I'll be taken care of promptly.
