Wow, just read all 12 pages. and Im starting to understand why this is such a popular thread ! Im hoping you get all your problems sorted out to your satisfaction very soon ! I find it interesting that you managed to get two lemons in a row ! Obviously NH has many happy customers out in the field using their equipment every day, such as Jim, having no issues to speak of. Unfortunately you managed to find some monday morning tractors after a long holiday weekend !

I am curious why you had such great luck with MF in the past but yet decided to go with NH ? I want to say up front Im not trying to start a color battle, Ive never even bought a new tractor myself, just older equipment that I fixed up to my satisfaction ! Just curious why you made that decision ? Once again, Im hopeful you have success resolving your problems with NH !

BTW- I would think a turbo powered MF 15xx would give you the power you need but yet have the manuverabilty of a smaller machine ?

Brian - this is crazy. At this point I would tell them you have no confidence in any TC45 tractor. They can either refund your money (which is what I would want) or get you into a cab tractor from a different series - unfortunately I think the TN70 cab that you already own is the next cab choice in the NH range.

I would be looking for a cash refund and then get something orange, the other orange, the other, other orange, or green, or reconsider the cab skid loader option.

Might also be time to start talking with a lawyer. Seems like a string of lemons that is costing you real money from jobs you aren't doing as soon as you should and from wasted, expensive trips to the dealer with your truck pulling a trailer (10-15mpg at $3/gallon depending what your setup is - I figure $1/mile roundtrip for our 3/4 ton diesel pulling a 3-horse trailer).

Brian - I'm curious as to what type of fuel you use, and how you store it. I know these newer tractors are more sensitive to fuel than the older ones. I'm wondering if the fuel would cause any of the issues you were having with lack of power, etc.

couple of things id like to point out..... (incase i missed a post were it was mentioned)

you do relize that the TC40/45 is has the same hydro bypass valve as my smaller TC33da right?

dispite the 40/45 heavyer bulker frame, its 10-15 extra hp, 1 extra cylinder, it will pull no harder than my smaller class 2 machine.

Perhaps a TC34 with no cab, and a 5' hog running top speed in range 2 would be fine for your mulitude of 1-5 acre lots.....with less weight to lug up those hills the hydro in the smaller machine would out pull the larger one... as well sip a bit less fuel perhaps?

if your happy with the frame size of the TC40/45 step up to the TC55 which is a shuttle shift version and you avoid all the hydro problems. It also has come with a cab for a couple of years now no? which means any design issues should have been sorted out by now.

the upshot to the 55 is that you could press it into service infront of a 8' mower (the same one your TN pulls) in lighter cutting condtions if the TN is down...

Go back and read (or read for your first time as it would appear) Brians post's. The New Holland DEALER DID NOT instigate the meeting with NH rep and Brian UNTIL he was told to BY BRIAN, relaying a message from NEW HOLLAND, after BRIAN contacted them ON HIS OWN after the dealer failed to do so. Dealer blew it. How come EVERYONE except you seems to get it and you seem to have so much trouble understanding the most basic explaination?

Am I supposed to be impressed that you're a moderator on some other forum? If so, I'm NOT. A good many of us are moderators on several boards. What's that got to do with anything in this situation?

FAST REACTION? You really are missing the boat aren't you. The FACT that the dealer DIDN'T make ANY progress without prompting is what this entire thread has been about. This went on for quite some time BEFORE BRIAN made his move to force the dealer to do what he SHOULD have done without being forced. This isn't the first thread about the subject. There's quite a lengthy history about the dealers lack of progress in resolving Brians troubles. That franchised dealer, acting as a representitive of New Holland, failed to do his part in resolving the issues. His failure to do so has been well documented. Try to keep up. You're falling WAY behind.




I get a laugh out of the fact that the originator of this post, Brian(LoneCowboy) himself,(the only person that really knows firsthand what is going on) is saying (in the above link, on page 1 of this thread, and quoted above), only three days ago, that this is "not a dealer issue".

Yet, YOU INSIST that YOU know EVERYTHING about the situation and YOUR opinion is gold. Read ALL the post's. You'll find where Brian takes his shots at the dealer too. By using selected, out-of-context "quotes", misrepresented "facts", incorrect statements, and just plain old fashioned confused uninformed BS, you seem to think YOU have all the answers. NO ONE is buying your line in case you haven't noticed.

I guess the question is at what point do you think the dealer should have instigated the meeting or suggested same? The tractor came back with a wiring problem, he fixed it. Another different problem, he fixed it; I would call this making progress. Now this loss of power situation and something with the rabbit/turtle, he offers to fix it but owner wants to meet with NH rep, which he is certainly entitled to do.

What would a reasonable person think is the proper point in time to get a higher up representative involved before we condemn the dealer and say he blew it?

Not all the issues were "one and done". Some were repeat problems from the beginning. Several MORE of the problems were CAUSED by poorly executed repairs on earlier problems. From the beginning, this tractor was essentially unusable. It went from bad to worse. I don't know what NH's specific protocol is, but I am vaguely familiar with a couple of their competing brands, who have a standard protocol on when "corporate" is to be called in when repeated issues AND an irate customer are involved. I can't speak to an EXACT MOMENT when New Holland factory reps should have been brought in, except that it should have happened WAY BEFORE the point at which Brian had to initiate contact with New Holland. And THERE is MY issue with the dealer. It took a higher power to get the pendulum swinging back into Brians favor. BRIAN had to make that first move INSTEAD of the dealer who made HIS money and then did virtually nothing when things continued to go south.

Well... this has been an interesting and enjoyable traipse thru the pasture! Stuff happens! Switches come loose.... People get tired and hot and irritable!

Patience runs thin and voices are raised and fingers wag.

And after considerable consternation -- we get goin' again in a forward direction.

Guess it all works out.... sooner or later. And hopefully Brian and the Dealer and the factory Rep will have a better understanding of each other and their respective position's --- and Brian will finally have the right tractor that will do the job!

it broke again today!!!!!!!!

It's dead in the field as we speak, they have to come get it tomorrow.

I took it out (big job, two mowers, two crews) and it went til exactly noon and it broke again. Same PTO switch. I call the dealer, even he's upset at this point. He says "we don't have any switch's"
I say, sure you do, that loaner without a FEL i ahd the other day is sitting there. How about if I send my wife down to get it and we'll switch it out. They agree, they strip it, I send the wife down (she can't mow anyway, what difference does it make), 30 minutes, about 20+ miles to get it. She gets it, switches it out
It runs for an hour and does the same thing.
Dead in the field. There are no more PTO switches in Denver (all 3 dealers) (obviously it's only MY problem), and every TC on their lot has been stripped from switches, they can't even sell one.
What a joke, what a piece of junk.

The more interesting part is that my wife talked to the service manager picking up the switch and he told her that we are not the only ones having troubles. That the other day after we left, that the GM of the store RIPPED the NH rep up and down for like an hour.

Then, after the 2nd time, I called the GM (who brokered the deal) and talked with him for a while and even he admitted that he was beyond frustrated with the NH TC series. On paper they look great, they have big solid stuff, but they are breaking piddly crap all over that kills the thing dead.

They picked up my new cab TC45 today, the GM is going to mow with it tonight to see if it breaks, to get thru these things. The deal is, they get two warranty repairs, on the 3rd one, I want my money back. I have ZERO faith at this point.
That's two TC45's (one with cab, one without) that haven't made it thru more than one job. This one has failed (dead in the field, not even trailerable) 4 times in 4 jobs (3 working days).

BTW, the TN75 ran perfect all day (9 hours on the hour-meter) despite eating a 8' length of 4" squares sheep fence. Took like an hour to get that undone, what a disaster, don't run over those.
