DK55c with root grapple

I did recently see the same grapple I had on ebay (they use attachments4u as their screen name if I recall correctly). Try searching for "light duty 48" grapple". You may also find their grapples on ebay or elsewhere with other dealers but I don't know what sort of prices the retailers ask. The dealer who provided hydraulic hoses for me carries them I think.

As you know, I am a fan of the grapple. You'll need a QA adapter for the KL130 which I believe is exactly the same pin pattern/dimensions as the KL120. I have the prototype and it works perfectly. Just make sure they don't spray paint all over the pins as that makes initial installation an unnecessary pain in the butt.

I still have my hydraulic hoses zip tied to the frame. If you know where to get fittings like on the right side FEL post to mount the QCs let me know. I'd also like to weld in some brackets on the left FEL post and on the front cross piece to make a more permanent home for the hydraulic hose connectors. You talk of mounting them to the removable cover but that would put them underneath the cross piece where they might be more vulnerable. I was thinking on the top side of the cross piece were I could see them.

Ok I'll look at the site. Thanks for posting it. The entire grapple cost is only somewhat higher than the add on grapple like from tatro and it looks to be far more effective.

The hydraulic QD type fittings on the FEL hoses I believe are called bulkhead fittings. Pineridge used them on his grapple install and they look sharp.

I had planned to use a bracket that mounts to the access cover and then bends up and around to the top of the crossbrace for safe connection above that crosspiece. For obvious reasons, I have no desire to drill, weld, or touch that crosspiece in any way since it needs all the strength it can get.

I bought a bag of 1000 zip ties several months ago and find they get used very often for some pretty strange things. I find them to be the duct tape of the 21st century.

I used the kit from W R Long on my CK30HST. It took me all of 4 hours to install and was complete with instuctions and all parts for the installation. When done you have the button on the joystick for control. I've got the wr long grapple on my dk55 and I've never put the bucket on in almost 1 year. I keep waiting to finish my chores and then put on the bucket, but I find too much to do with it. I also have the diverter valve with the button the joy stick and it works perfectly.

If you have a loader you've got to add something to your bucket or buy a grapple... period!

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( if you've thought of purchasing a grapple.. do it! it's probably one of the most useful tools i've used in the farm restoration. my only regret was waiting to puchase it. we just finished rebuilding 2,000 ft. of stone wall - sure beats using chains to secure large rocks to the FEL.

the grapple was built by Loflin Manfucturing. i looked at Anbo and a few others, but decided on this unit due to the price, the welds, and the weight.

i probably have ~50+ hours on this grapple.. no problems. it's plumbed through the rear remotes (will have to look into the kit that allows me to plumb it directly into the FEL joystick to open/close the grapple).

I looked at that model and setup but had to meet the need for a tractor that would fit down the rows.
