Wow. How does that subframe mount hold up for the BH? Any flexing apparent?[/QUOTE]
No Flex that I can find. This is the same backhoe that was mounted on the CK30, just a different sub frame. It is a good solid mount. The one thing I really like about the Kioti mount is you do not have to remove the lower 3pth arms. :D
These backhoes are very easily to mount and remove. I wish they would make their loaders as easy.

Taking the loader off and on is bad news, in fact I'm not going to do it again unless absolutely necessary. I am mowing now and just took the bucket off and have left the loader on, it's not worth the aggrevation. When I think how simple it should and could be it doesn't make any sense to have the setup that they have.

The problem I am having with the loader mounting and removal is the the pockets on the towers are too deep so there is no way to get the pin holes lined up. I had to use a piece of pipe to rock the pin back and forth to get one out. When putting it back I had to use a sledge hammer to drive the pin in. No way would the holes line up. I am going to ream out the holes some and see if that will help. Or I may start by putting shims in the pockets. I had a Kubota once that the pins just dropped into so I don't think they have to be real tight.
As to the noise level in the cab, I thought it was a little loud until I open the window. That was noisy. I shut the window. But it was 99 degrees and it was sure comfortable in there

Somebody mentioned greasing the pins and I think Donnie said he ground his down a bit and that made insertion easier. I also had trouble getting the hydraulic hoses reconnected under the cab, they fit to close and tight.
I agree about the cab noise, I don't think it's bad at all. I have been mowing in this heat and humidity and what a treat to be cool and comfortable after two or three hours of work. I removed the side panels on the tractor to allow the engine heat to dissipate better, Wallace had recommended doing this and it seems to be a good suggestion.

Hi Scotty

You gonna be around this weekend?
Yeah I am going to be hear this weekend. I have some brush hogging to do and some trees to clear. Funny how the trees never bothered before the cab but now I don't want them near it.

I just went back and read Donnyj's post about taking off the KL451 loader. I have been looking for a way to grind the paint off way into the loader post. Also grind in the inside hole in the tower. I have a dremel and can reach the front hole and about 1 1/2" into the loader post.
I hate to start grinding on the pins because it seems the only good way to do it would be on a lathe or a big grinder.

Could sure use some suggestions on this one.

You really don't need to take off much. The paint I believe is what was causing my problems. It was my idea to taper the end of the pins. I don't think I even sanded the holes where the pins go into. I know the pins are much easier now with some grease. When I sit the loader bucket on the ground flat I can spin the pins by hand. All I used was a small bench grinder on the pins. Good luck!!

My bad.
I don't think the loader was on flat enough ground when I took it off. That would leave it sprung just enough so the holes did not line up. Today I removed it in the driveway where it is flat and both pins turned freely and came right out.
When putting it back on everything went smoothly including the hydraulic connections. That is after I learned to be sure there was no twist in the lines and carefully sort out which line I wanted to attach first and so on.
Some times I learn slowly. Today was one of those days.
However, I will now be taking it off each time I mow with it. :)

Mornin Al,
Just to add to this thread, I met Al and got a first hand tour around the new DK45 this past saturday and was very impressed with this machine. Talk about comfort, I just sank into that cloth seat, that was nice :) The weather wasnt great, so we didnt do any hogging with it, but maybe another time :)

Did I ever tell you how much I like that grapple :)
Thanks again for the rundown on a very nice machine !

Lunch next time :)

Out of curiosity, is the rationale for removing the FEL to shorten up the tractor for mowing, or for some other reason?

Well in my case......I once put the teeth of my bucket through the vinyl siding of the house. Holy........ And being a slow learner, I again put them through the TV dish. Holy....... Not Again... Those dishes crack pretty easy and don't get much signal after that. I REALLY want my wife to have a signal from that dish. Oh yes I do. That I seemed to learn much faster.

And you can imagine the loving words my dear wife had to say to me after the house. So I learned that to see well when mowing around HER house is much to my advantage. :) There for I do try to remove the loader when mowing (which is most of the time during the summer). For the times I need the loader it goes on pretty fast.

Hi,

I am new to the site and in the process of waiting on my new DK45S (c), the grapple you have pictured is very intresting to me. You are using the rear Hyd to control that? Here in the Brush Country of South Texas we are always looking for other options on brush control, seems to me that with that I wouldn't need to spent the $$$$$ on the John Deere pre-made.

Also, how does the joy stick controls operate for you? I was just a little concerned on the reliability of that portion of the unit.

The dealer set this up for me so I would have the grapple when I get the tractor instead of waiting for the WR Long diverter control. He set it up so the hydraulic lines disconnect at the same point the loader lines do. It works OK but I miss having all the controls on the joystick.

Also, how does the joy stick controls operate for you?
The joystick was not touched and only controls the bucket functions. The grapple is controlled by one of the rear remotes. The DK45SC comes with one remote standard so there is only the hydraulic lines to add. If you do it this way be sure they add a disconnect at the loader.

Thanks Al,

I just called Tom @ Hill Country Tractor and he is checking on an electric switch that can be added for the functions. He said it was an add on and that it comes built into the joy stick... when I get the info I will post it on here.

If he is looking at the one fron W R Long it is a great setup. It is very easy to install and includes the joystick knob with the buttons and disconnects at the loader tower just like the loader. I will be getting that setup again. I had it on my CK30and really liked it.

Send pictures when you get it up and running.

Did you try removing the "quick disconnect" bucket first, that would likely improve forward vision quite a bit. Not to mention removing the offending forks.
