We recieved another DK45S on Monday, just uncrated it about an hour ago and they are now coming with the loader valve & handle mounted on the right fender like the CK's. It is in a much better spot, but you can now more or less forget about getting on and off of the tractor from the right hand side. They also are now putting the "chrome" look gas cap and filler rim on the DK45S just like the ones that are on the CK models. Just thought some of you would like to know because I know this was on the "wish-list" for some of you guys before the DK45S was released.

I have been teased about that chrome gas lid. Seems chinsy as heck. Something you would find on a toy.

If you have time I would like to see a picture of the new placement of the loader control. I really wish mine was on the fender like the New Hollands. Very comfortable position for operating the loader in my opinion. I still like my Kioti tractor, but the New Holland has a very nice loader setup.

I don't know if you were a dealer when we went to the dealer's meeting last year in Sept, but that's when everone saw the prototype of the DK45S. I think, without exception, all the dealers asked stated they wanted the joystick on the fender like the CKs. Then it came out, and of course it was shoulder-wreaking high instead.
I'm glad they changed that. I tell you, there's nothing like having it at a great level so one doesn't have to keep the arm up in the air. That's just my opinion, after using my CK20 joystick for many hours.

Donny, the operating lever on the New Hollands right hand fender is nice, but as far as climbing onto the tractor from the right side, it's really not easy. In fact I never do it, I just get on from the left hand side. I am getting used to using the single lever, as from the old school dual levers on the IH3444.

I know what you mean with the dual levers. My old Ford 3000 had them along with my Ford 641 and my dads Ford 3500. I still think my dad could operate those old worn out dual levers smoother than I can with the single. All what you get used to. Even with my control lever I find it hard to get on and off. I always use the left side of the tractor to get on and off. Always afraid I will hit the lever when I get on or off. I rented a Cat loader last year that had one joystick on the left for direction of travel and one on the right for the loader. It also had the turtle and rabbit switch for direction speed. Couple of hours of operating that and I fell in love with it. Out of my price range though. Rental was bad enough. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Donny do you think the beefed up the step on the newer 45s yet?

Mine does have some flex to it. I only weigh 180, so I don't put to much pressure on it. I do notice the flex though if that is what you were asking me.

yep

The step was another thing I really liked on the Kioti DK45S, the New Holland step will get you up there, but it is kinda wimpy. I've even though of either buying a couple of Kioti steps and installing them on the New Holland, or just building my own. The NH one does work, just very light duty in my opinion. Love to see the new Kioti step, after seeing how beefy the "old" ones were on the DK45S. I think that Kioti gave you a step on both sides also. With NH you only get the one, and the quote was $50 for the right side. Yikes!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Yep, you kinda get the nac working both levers with one hand. I find myself sometime reaching towards the right side of the dash for the operators levers on the NH. I got really good after 18 years of working those dual levers on the IH3444. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
