DK40 Loader

   / DK40 Loader #12
I am looking for some feedback on the DK40 loader. I am thinking of replacing my current tractor with one because I need the increased capacity. I know the spec is 2761 at pin, but as I have found out the numbers do not always apply in the real world once you start factoring in what type of load and how far out from the pins it is.

What I want to know is, can any current owners of a KL401 loader confirm or deny if the tractor can pick up a 2000 lb skid? Equipped with QA forks and properly balanced of course. I know it *should*, I am just looking for anybody that has actually done it.

I moved from CK20 (1070lb lift) to a DK40 for the same reason. Never disappointed. I've lifted lots of heavy stuff and my concern is never the loader but rather whether I have enough ballast.

Currently I have a Kubota L3700su and it has a similar rating. Its funny how when you think you picked a tractor big enough you find it isn't. Seems to be pretty common around here:). I am pretty sure Im going to upgrade. Just need to work out the details on the deal.

Upgrading is pretty common. As noted, for me the driver was also the loader capacity. The DK is physically quite a lot bigger than the L3700 but you'll get used to it. Having a powerful loader really helps with land clearing and material
movement. Grapples are nice too!

You guys helped me with what I needed to know. After that the conversation can easily turn to anything :). I appreciate your feedback. I will post pics once I get this sorted out.
