DK35 year built?

Does someone have a year breakdown of the serial number for a DK35. Serial is 361400800. The internet gives me about 25,000 hits, so many choices. I have found a used one that is not next door so I would like all the info I can get before calling for more details.

Any info on this model would be greatly welcomed. How much was cost new? Is the KL1450 a good FEL??

Can't help you with the serial #.
I've owned my DK 35 for 7 or 8 years now. I have been very happy with this tractor.Has around 1225 hours on it now. It has been very solid, reliable.
The KL 1450 loader has good solid mounting where it mounts to the tractor, controls work nice, and decent lifting power. I personally was never very impressed with its bucket roll back power.
I paid $16,990 for my 2001 DK 35/KL1450 loader. Price included 1 set of rear hydraulic remotes, grill guard, and skid steer style QA on the loader.

Be careful to distinguish the DK35 from the DK35se. The DK35se has only been made for about 18months. If the loader is the KL1450 then it is the older series tractor. Newer DK35se mounts a KL351 loader.

Thanks Islandtractor, when I type in DK35 the se models keep coming up. Makes it harder to find the info I am looking for. I figure there is a year build number somewhere in the serial number I just have to learn how to read the numbers into a date.

2001 was the first year for the DK 35.

That tractor might have been manufactured at the factory in 2003. I don't remember what year they changed the first character to a letter to designate the year, I thought it was 2000 but then no DK would have a serial number starting with a numeric digit. so in short if the sn is right it would have to be 2003.

You may be right.
I have a 2001 model DK 35 and the first digit on my serial # is a 1.

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to place a call tommorow to get some more details. The tractor is on the house. 163 hrs,fel R/4 tires looks good in the pictures have asking price of 12,500. Sounds like a fair price but I will shoot a little lower and see what happens. I have another tractor to call about that is closer to home but about 600 more hours and a little less horse power. If only I could get some bail-out money I would buy both

Well the closer tractor sold. I am going to have to take a trip to see just how good looking the DK35 is. Should I take my trailer I hate to buy on impluse. If I drag around the DK will be gone just like the Kubota that was down the road. It is only money Just don't ever have enough of it

Hi Mattman,
That tractor was put into service in 6/04 as a new tractor. The serial number says it was built in 03, but as you know there is really no model year for tractors. Unlike a car or truck, this industry goes with the in service date when your warranty starts.

Thanks Kiotidave for the info. I am trying to get a time to look at the tractor. The tractor is a few miles away so I will take trailer and money incase I want to bring it on home and start my food plots. The clock is ticking. I have to have a tractor within the next month, or borrow my buddy's. I hate to borrow someone's tractor to use in the woods. I hate to borrow anything breakable. If it can break I can somehow break it. I would not feel bad if I ran a stick thru my radiator or something like that, but I would hate to tell someone that I had their tractor tore apart trying to fix what ever was broke. My luck would be a 2 week wait on parts.

Well shucks I feel the price for the dk is too high. I gave the man a price he said another 1,000 would get it. I don't feel that I can go that high. The tractor is in great shape, like new, but the tractor is not new about 5 years old. If I say the tractor cost 17,000 when new take 1,000 off for each year of age you get 5,000 off the new price. I want the tractor bad, but I am tighther than bark on a tree about spending my money. What do yall think about the price??

You said in an earlier post the seller was asking $12,500. Is that correct ?
With only 163 hours in like new condition, the price sounds fair to me.

What was I thinking. Buying a used tractor.. I got the tractor, it is a real disapointment, that I did not buy it two weeks ago. The tractor does look like new. I don't think the pto or the 3 point has been used. the bucket shows a little use, but the paint is not even wore off the bucket. I would not expect a new tractor to look much better than what I have got. I have not really used the tractor except for the front end loader. I am very pleased with the tractor. The only thing is that shifting from high range to low range the shifter is a bit stiff. Maybe it will get better with some more use. I have a grin this big. I can't say enough about the tractor. It should do everything I want it to do and then some.
