Hi Guys
If the crank is twisted or bent, you (in most cases) should have had a top end knock with the pistons hitting the valves. If you drop the mains out one by one, then these should also show signs if the crank is bent by way of uneven wear patterns. One thing to check if it is not too late, but were the mains all fitted the correct way around? Just recently we had an 1106 series Perkins with the rear main back to front. Tractor managed 900 hours before it became a problem. This is a 120 hp machine that has to work to earn it's keep. As has already ben mentioned, I'd pay particular attention to the lube pump. This engine (DK35) is a very reliable unit and not over stressed in normal hard work. I'm not saying that it wont be a bent or twisted crank, just unusual if it is for this engine (in my experience anyway).
If you need any more info, let me know and if I can help I will.
