I just did my 50 hour service in the hydraulic filter. The yellow one inboard of the fuel tank seems to be leaking. I tightened it up as much as I can but I didn’t notice a large O-ring on the canister. Was wondering if this is normal

The Kubota filters that I am familiar with all had a gasket on the filter.
I would call your dealer to confirm, but I would be very surprised if the new filter wasn't supposed to have a gasket.

Just because you didn’t notice a gasket doesn’t mean there actually wasn’t one. You need to undo and verify before you do anything else. It’s possible that you’ve simply kinked the gasket by over tightening it. My habit is to always hand tighten a canister filter, and then turn the filter in reverse ever-so-slightly.
Let us know what you find

Great information guys. Thank you very much. Appreciate your help.

The other possibility?…..is that you’ve doubled up the gaskets. The old one remained on and then you added the new filter…with its gasket. Have a good look before you do anything else 🤞
ps…your admission that you don’t remember seeing the gasket means that you’ve committed the ultimate SIN, “forgot to put new oil on the gasket”. This lets the gasket slide along the block with the filter, preventing it from bunching up

Great picture GM I think it’s time for me to pull my filter back off and check and make sure it doesn’t have a couple of stray gaskets on it. Thanks again for your help guys. I appreciate it.

I ALWAYS pre lube the filter gaskets….nit doing so can cause leaks

Exactly my thoughts… only thing I’ll add: I use clean motor oil on the gasket as a lubricant… fuel filter, hydraulic filter, whatever… just an old habit that works for me…
