My guess is that Warren is the distributor for Supertech. They also make products for Autozone and TSC.

Does Warren refine their own or buy from someone else??

Do you think that Walmart has it's own refinery for SuperTech products?

Although they probably have the $$ to purchase a refinery. I doubt they own 1. They probably contract with someone to make the oil to their (walmart's ) specs just enough to meet specs so, they can keep the price as low as possible. Remember the old saying ????? You generally get what you pay for

Walmart, SuperTech Diesel engine oil actually tests very well when compaqred to other major brands, tested better than Rotella! Not sure about their gasoline engine oils.

Please post a VOA or a UOA .. I'd love to see proof it test/tested better than any of the major brands.

While I don't usually buy Supertech, I don't have a big problem with it. Many people have been well served by it, and if you spend time hanging on BITOG, you'll find that DNewton3 runs Supertech conventional in his own personal vehicle. He earns his living as a tribologist.

IMO, I'd be surprised if Supertech routinely exceeds the performance of Rotella, in terms of UOA. That said, minutely comparing real-world UOA is a bit of a mugs game anyway - Unless 2 engines have been run on test stands, in Environmental chambers, then there is no chance the driving and load conditions match. Personally I watch for overall trends on BITOG, that is the big value of the data over there for me (ex. recent era Subaru boxers tend to shear oil down pretty quick).

Anything short of Heifer Dust 5U32 SEA rated SX Oyl sold at a flea market will meet most peoples needs, so long as:

1) It meets the minimum S_ class rating that the engine OEM specs.

2) The oil is changed at the factory intervals.

3) Correct viscosity is used.

Stick to the basics, hard to go wrong.

(Above over-simplification refers to N. American gas engines - substitute correct approval as needed for fuel type and regional variances).

I highly doubt that SuperTech even meets the VOA of rotella. I'm aware you can't compare 2 different engines or 2 different peoples driving habits. But, 1 could compare their own driving habits with the same engine. That;s why I would love to see either VOA or UOA of SuperTech From the same engine & from the same person is OK with me. When you can make a statement that SuperTech Tested better than a leading brand, I'd love to see proof

People would be lined up with their hand out as far as the eye could see, if they could hold Wal-Mart responsible for engine failure. It is yet to happen!

That ain't gonna happen to any oil manufacture . I just choose to use a oil with better # than what wal mart sells.Better add packages /higher TBN cost more $$.. With oil, You generally get what you pay for
