DIY grille guard

Didn't think the factory guard complimented the stylish DK40 so I made one with a few curves,I'll post a few pics....Mike

Thanks Jack, My original plan was to have my son plasma cut the 3/8" stock but,he was out of town and I was getting antsy.
So I cut the pieces using 6" waffer wheels on a 4" angle grinder and a sawsall.
Only a retired guy(with lots of time) would use this Flintstone approach.............Mike

That brush guard is awesome. You could sell those! Considering the time it probably took you to make it, I don't know if you could make any money /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif , but I definately would buy one.

Thanks for the kind words guys,I'm going to talk to my bro- in-law who has more experience in fabrication work,I'm more of a one-off guy.
Building them like I did this one would make them too expensive for most.

Did you ever see the movie "The Rocketeer"? The grill guard looks like the helmet he wears...very retro-futuristic. Or like the mask of someone from "Star Wars".

Farmhouse,3M cleaner wax but,it was pretty shiny to begin with.....Mike

That is one awsome grill guard! mine came off a burned JohnDeere 4100. It just slips into two pockets. I was bored one night and found out that I could even mount my vice to it. anyways, yours looks awsome! Great job!:thumbsup:

Man O man, is that a rightous looking grill guard. Makes the one I bought for my New Holland from the dealer look like a whimpy piece of crap. You could definetly sell them commercially. People will pay more for a very well designed guard like that. Sweet!:licking:
