Ditchwitch dilema

Greetings all,

Currently own a ditchwitch backhoe, 1988 vintage, 4 wheel drive/steer. Unit is hydraulic driven and has a wiring problem where the mobile switch (new) does not engage the hydraulics. Bucket, stick, outriggers work fine but the unit won't move. I was told no manual was ever made for these machines so I was looking for some experience in this problem. Machine has only 1800 hrs, so hate to scrap it. any help/suggestions/experience would be appreciated.
