Annoyed

Just broke 50hrs on my 2014 2030. Don't use it much. When I do and need too battery is dead. My 1948 6 volt 9n can sit for a entire season and fires up every time. Cheap battery.

I wouldn't condemn the tractor because of a bad battery, Stuff happens. Unless something is wrong on the tractor that caused it to go bad.

Besides, I would wager that almost every tractor has something go wrong with it in the first 100 hours.

Your right of course, but it still pisses me off.

All kinds of electronics on new tractors, which consume a trickle of current whether the tractor is running or shut down.

Guess I'm going have to get a trickle charger.

One of those solar powered 'battery maintainer' thingys will do the trick. I've now had to hook my ute up to one 'cause, being retired, I don't run it everyday and if 3-4 days go by the various security systems leech enough power from the battery that only a battery charger can save it. No worries since I started using the maintainer.

Take the battery and have it load tested. I've seen new equipment come through with defective batteries. Should be a warranty item.

Thanks, I'll do that.

Did you test the battery? If the battery is good, I would take it back for a warranty claim because something is drawing power when it shouldn't. I bought a 2023 and had a muffler crack and a differential lock go out on mine. That's what you pay forbade warranty for. As far the battery, I keep everything I own on a battery tender, mostly during the offseason. I attach a pigtail lead to the battery and leave the plug accessible somewhere outside the machine for easy plugging and unplugging. I have one on my LS, my UTV, and my zero turn.
