Some tractors have eight position wheels, four positions each side. This lets you adjust the width of tread over a wide range to match the width of the rows you are working and to adjust the stability footprint of the tractor. Also spacers can be added to increase the clearance with the fenders and the impliments on the three point hitch to allow the use of chains.
