Any opinions on the latest version of the kuhn disc mower?
Any other brands that should be considered?

I have a Kuhn GMD 700HD that I have used for two seasons now. So far I've been very satisfied with it.

i have a krone AM283s, and i am very happy with it. that happy infact i am thinking about trading up to a Krone mower conditioner in the near future. it has performed flawlesly and reliably so far.

I have had a FELLA brand that was poorly made very weak welds and gear box problems. I had a Case IH that was very good it was shaft drive, it wore out. I presently have a MORTL from the Tennessee Farmers COOP it is cheap made junk.

The CASE/IH shaft drive mower was either a Lely or a New Idea(copy of the Lely Design) If you want a quality shaft drive mower at a great price you need to look at the HayMAXX Disc mowers. Lower HP & lighter to be used safely on smaller tractors, 1/3 less moving parts than oil bath mowers, & best of all MADE IN THE USA.

I have an 8' Case/IH that is identical to the New Idea. I have used it for two seasons now and I love it,works perfectly. The only downfall is that it is pretty heavy.accordind to the specs it needs 55+ HP to run it.My International 484 pulls it without breaking a sweat and it is rated at42 pto hp

Seems to be some news that First Choice is changing disc mower manufacturers. Look for them to use the lighter Galfre' design pictured in the attachment. What will this mean about parts for the older Fort mowers? Will FC still carry the Fort machines?
