Disc Mower AND Tedder...

I would suggest buying a mower conditioner if you are that worried about making another pass with the tedder. I don't think the tedder behind the disc mower would work to well, even if you can figure out a way to run two implements from one PTO. For one, the tedder will throw cut hay into the uncut hay, causing less efficient cutting. Secondly, you typically don't run a tedder at disc mower RPMs, way too fast. Just my 2 cents.

I've thought a bit about it but I tend to leave my hay at least a few hours before tedding. My mower spreads it pretty wide to start with.

If I were to do what you're talking about, I'd pull the tedder directly behind the tractor so the swath doesn't get spread into the uncut grass. The mower spreads it a bit narrow so it doesn't plug on the next pass.

You could convert the tedder to pull type and drive it with a hydraulic motor. a two basket only takes a few hp to run.

I solved my problem by replacing the 2 basket with a 17 ft 4 basket. Less than 1/2 the time to ted now.

What I'm working on is adding a rake to the front of the tractor so I can rake and bale at the same time. Would cut hours out of my work when short handed and short tractored.
