My first dirtbike (cough) was a Yamaha 60cc with lights, turn signals and probably a mirror /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
We zipped around the woods behind our houses. Then in 1980 I bought my OWN dirtbike (verses parental gift) and bought sight unseen, the YZ-465 when it first came out... quite a step up /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Sold it couple years later for what I had in it.. fast forward to couple years ago and now living with some acreage around me I got what I WANTED to get back in the 80's... a Maico.
Found a 1983 Maico 490 on internet that was literally taken apart and stuffed into 4 boxes. Dude ran a bike shop and had this on internet "for sale" (who'd want to buy a box of bolts??) to strike up hits on his site.
Well, my wife bought it for me at my direction (for birthday /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif) and I had the honor, pleasure, shere delightful enjoyment of putting it back together piece by piece while getting frame restored, new motor components...
I really DO wish that $^@#+#%&*(#$) (censored /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) kickstarter was on the "right" side though. that left side kickstart with that high compression about kills me. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
It does screammmmmmmmmm though. Nothing like knowing you can just twist that right grip a tad more if ya need to, want to, or have the kahunas to. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
