I've been looking for a reasonably priced alternative and found it today.
$18 shipped to my house.

Hope you find usefull.

Not good for diesel, but I'll be using on my gas generator, did not come with an hour meter.

I bought one of these for my chipper off eBay, but I paid a bit more for it. I also purchased several straight hour-meters for my generator, wood splitter, pressure washer, and rototiller. Works well, easy install. The only worry is the battery only lasts 8 years -- what do you do after that?

I also used the tach function to tune up the carb on my chainsaw before I installed it on the chipper. Worked great for that.

Glad they work good, I could see good feedback on another forum, that was where I found reference to these, I just ordered two, one for my generator. Not sure what I'll put the other on as my lawn tractor is an old craftsman and I don't realy use it enough to worry about. Maybe give to my brother for his generator.
