It came. The guy dropped it off about 4 this afternoon. Seeing the smile on his face when he was taking it off the trailer I told him to take it round back, talk about kid in a candy store, I will say it was clear by his driving he doesnt drive them often /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I think the car driver was a bit concerned when he swung around narrowly missing their car /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Anyway I had a quick go and then my brother turned up, guess who drove then /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
The task is to dig out the stump, its a biggun, but nothing to the awesome power of the digger /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

In the pic its my brother driving, he obviously didnt get my good looks /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

All went well, he tickled the soil a bit (hes a digger virgin and hasnt sussed that the open end of the bucket digs best /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif), until it ran out of deisel, he sat there while it spluttered and died /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. Anyone know if its self bleeding? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Aond for those who want the technical stuff on it, its a digger and its red and white (and brown /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Looks like you're in for some fun!

I had about 25 small stumps that had been cut off about 3" above ground level. I opted to use a stump grinder to take them down to about the same amount below ground level. But I'm sure a digger would have been more fun.

Congratulations, Mith. I didn't know Hamleys delivered out your way. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well we got some more diesel and it seems that it is self bleeding for it started right up.
We are now at the stage (Tom gave up and went to watch TV, its been a long day for him poor lad) where we have a huge (10'x15') hole in the ground with a load of roots in a big pile and a massive pile of dirt on the other and a stump firmly stuck like an island in the middle. The famous words, shouldnt take long in the morning, have been said /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. Therefore by law it should take all day.

Gary, you could have also hired a squadren of tanks to come and blow them out the ground but sometimes the most fun option isnt the most practical /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Snowridge, I dindnt know Hamleys sold diggers, maybe there behind the Mr Whippy Ice cream makers. Maybe it was free delivery on all hydraulic tracked equipment that day? I mean, its not as if it covers much of their stock is it?

The one time I went to Hamleys, when I was a wee little boy, I was scared to go in. I thought the doormen on th outside were gaurds and it was a giant prison. I was wrong, all they did was extract all my knowledge with a lazer gun as I walked in. Jokes on them eh? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Havnt been back since, dont have anything more to give them /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I notice on their homepage they have an electronic lightsaber on sale, ohhh maybe a pair of street gliders...... Maybe its time to make another visit. Ahhh, what it is to be easily pleased /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif John, i see something for you too, a Hamleys pudgey pig, oh what a hoot /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif And for the meat eaters amoung you, how about a Hamley jonted bear. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ahh, the victorious moment after 6 hours digging, the stump is pretty big, the hole about 15'x20' and about 5-6 foot deep. My brother had to go to work (ha, work, whats that? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif) so some progress was made. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif This was the picture at lunchtime today, its now 5pm and the hole is filled and leveled. Just fiddling with a few other projects at the mo.
I dont think the huge brown patch is an improvement over the nice lawn, but hey /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif.
it doesnt look it but the whole place is on a huge slope, talk about hairy /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
