I saw this neat video (albeit a little old, but very good explanation) and thought some that aren't quite as knowledgeable in engineering might benefit.

It's a principle that is taken for granted, but without we'd be lost. Good to understand the hows of machinery.

That's pretty cool. I think every instructional/news/documentary film from that era was narrated by one of maybe three people!

I think I remember seeing that video (or one very similar) way, way, way back in high school auto shop class.

My hat (not that I wear one) would go off to the people capable of designing stuff like that for the benefit of so many. I could go on about stuff like that, but would just get myself into trouble.
