DIFFERENTIAL LOCK

You're right about the 5500 fwd not having the rear hydraulics as standard. I had to have a dual set installed a couple of days ago. Cost me $850. Used diff. lock a couple of times no prob.

Wow, after reading this I went to the mahindra website. Couldn't believe my eyes. How could they sell a tractor as big as the 5500 without rear remotes? For a company that advertises how much comes standard compared to the other guys this is a tough one to swallow. Sure glad I got my tractor before the nickeling and diming started...

Based on the last competitive comparison we looked at (Kubota MX5000, JD 5205, CNH TC55DA and TN60A), none come with rear remotes as standard.

Perhaps, but the weights/rear remotes etc. all played a part in the process of purchasing. They went right into the "+" column, and helped Mahindra to end up in the winners circle!

I use the diff. lock all the time, no problems.

I really think a big selling point of the Mahindras has been getting what others sell as options come as standard equipment on the Mahindras. I know that was a factor for me.

That's really what I was getting at. I know Mahindra is an unknown compared to deere and case here. I went with mahindra because of all the extras and the heavier frame. If it is the same as the others and a similar price, I would have looked at others more closely.

Not comparing mahindra to hyundai, but it is the same principle. They are coming into a US market where everyone wants a Chevy. They need the 10 year warranty just to get people to think about looking at them. I think Mahindra still needs the extras to make people say. WOW, what a deal and what a machine.

Also I'd like to know if the price came down the same as all those options cost.

Weight bar, weight set, rear remotes, what else? That is a big chunk of change to add back in.
