Different color shading for new/updated posts

Those envelopes are a little hard to undestand. If I remember right in the old version the whole line was shaded yellow. Can you add that style back so it is easier to see new posts at a glance?

That would be great if they could. Another thing, which I would like to see, is a reference to which post a new post is in reference to. Without that we have to post the persons name or quote them.
