Can anyone recommend a lab for doing a general test for #2 fuel?

Any lab that does oil analysis will also test diesel. Check with a trucking company or heavy truck dealer in your area for a lab.

Predictive Maintenance is the one that I have used in the past for oil analysis as well as fuel particle count.
