Diesel Engine Opinions

/ Diesel Engine Opinions #11
I am in Ashe Co and even semi level ground is hard to find.

My understanding is almost all small gas engines depend on lubication by lifting the oil out of the sump [no pump]. If operated for extended times on slopes of more than appoximatley 25 degrees they will seize. Diesel engines have an oil pump and can operate on 30 + slopes for extended periods. Since I use the BCS with soil engaging tools the extra torque of the diesel is a big plus.

Hi! Please read on other thread Other page (2) Problem on a step hill(diesel) by Clytle. Good luck! Oldmech

Oldmech thanks for the heads up on the other thread. Don't know if it makes a difference but I have the Lombardini diesel and always check the oil level. I have over 400 hours and 0 problems here in the mountains.

Diesel or gas the BCS is a terrific machine.
