It's funny that this thread would come up. Yesterday I was talking to my wife about cutting up and hauling away a split cedar tree between the yard and field. I said I was going to get JD to help me. I didn't think she would know that I was talking about the John Deere 3520 but she picked up on it right away.

After the job was complete I thot I'd have fun and told her of a metal post that was in the ground where the cedar was. I said I asked JD could he pull it out and JD responded " just put a chain around that sucker and watch what I can do". Came out no problem. She got a good laugh.

I always tell her you gotta let a man be a man. She does.

JD is what I call my tractor as of yesterday.

LOL. I just use the same name John Deere tagged them with --- 3720 and 4320. On rare occasions, other select names are used depending upon culpability.

Yeah I know. I once knew a guy named JD. He was a big powerful dude. I was thinking about that as well.

I trust your Dad was a great man so I'll take that as a compliment.

I was just giving you the same grief I give him. Just playin.

And no. Not a chessie. Shes a choc pointing lab. Good on ducks and upland. I have hunted with some strong chesapeakes in my time. Hard to find a stronger, tougher animal. Just usually not so good as pets. The ones that I knew were 1 person dogs.

I'm just having fun too, no problem.

Love my Chessie's, I have two. They are one strong tough animal. Female is 7 years old the male is 2, they get along great. I don't hunt them but they are with me on the farm , field, and woods. Good truck riding buddies too. In the cab not in the bed.

They tend to get a bad rap because most people have some bad memories of mean chessies but that is being bred out of them. They are still very protective of their owner and property but ours have been excellent pets, couldn't ask for any better.

I wish more people would give them a try.

Sorry, I won't hijack the thread any longer.
