Hi guys -

I have a mahindra 2015 hst with 1150 hours on it. I was finish mowing the front field this morning when I started smelling something hot. It was primarily when I went from forward to reverse.

I stopped mowing immediately and pulled the tractor into the barn. The rear end was (lightly) smoking it was so hot.

I can't think of what the issue would be. I'm going to drain and fluids and change all filters. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I had a clogged transmission filter and the fluid wasn't passing through like it should. I just service everything in the winter and have probably only put 100 hours on it since.

Any other ideas in what I should check out? Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

I can't help as in if you damaged anything, but do you know if it has a plastic fan located under the seat on the rear end? My emax 25 does and I believe yours will have one also. It's the cooling fan. I Have heard about the blades getting broken off from sticks and such, getting jammed up in them. Sorry not much help.

Could have been working it with the brakes on the whole time... that would heat up the discs/ shoes/ and the fluid.. Real easy to do ..... I've caught myself driving around with the brakes on several times. I modified my first Mahindra [ 5035 ] with a sonalert and bright LED to keep me from doing it. I need to get with making similar mods to my other two... someday...
