I'm getting quotes from a few dealers for a new CK30HST with a backhoe. Keeping in mind I'm north of the border, these are the 2 quotes I have received so far:

Dealer 1, closer to home - Tractor, 20500; Hoe 8600
Dealer 2, a little further - Tractor & Hoe combined, 28900

Here's the thing, Dealer 2's quote is for a CK35HST. His reason for offering it is that the CK30 is being discontinued. Is this true? I haven't been able to find any information on this. What is troubling is that if he is lying, his quote for a larger tractor is less than Dealer 1's.

Either way, I have more quotes I am waiting on, the task of convincing the CFO, establishing a trade-in value for my B7500, and final negotiations.

I bought a ck30 hst a couple of weeks ago. I compared a number of dealers, made sure they all knew that I always get 3 quotes before I buy and found a huge variation from one dealer to another ( thousands ). Even the highest quote I had was a grand cheaper than you have.
I was going to buy the ct35hst for 17500 but was offered the ct30hst for 2 grand less. Called the dealer that I felt would give the best service and offered a little less, he said yes. The bh quote was 7200, wishing now that I bought it but other attachments are higher up the list. These prices included fel and delivery but not taxes, cash money.
I had not heard of the 30 being discontinued.
I am very happy with the tractor so far, 22 hours, all loader and tiller work.

So you paid 15500 for the 30? Good to know - thanks.

From what dealers did you get quotes from? Tractor price seems fair, but i payed 6150 +tx for a brand knew KB2475, 18 inch bucket, and bigfoot pads. Shopping around is good, but i prefer a good dealer even if it's further away.

I just got a 3rd - 25950 for the CK30HST + KB2475 from Payeur. Dealer 1 is Lefrancois and 2 is Turfcare. I'm actually not that far from the ON border and about 2.5 hours from Ottawa - might have to look over there, too.

I bought my CK30 from payeur, they provide at home service, where as other dealers it's at the shop. Payeur also gave me the 50hr service and did it at my home 3 hours away. The backhoe i did purchase in Ontario, but only because of the price difference. I will diffinently buy from payeur again.:)

Since you bought the hoe separately, did you consider the Woods?

I also looked at the Woods and the Wallenstein, but both where more expensive than the Kioti BH. Payeur does offer the Kelly BH but it's a 3PT, and i wanted something with a subframe. I like the Kioti BH, but will installe a thumb later, i think the Woods has a thumb option.

Thanks 'karl.

So - is that guy talking through his hat regarding the discontinuation of the CK30?

Can't really help you out on this one, i've heard rumours but nothing serious. The CK30 seems a popular model, so don't know why they would discontinue it. The DK35 SE is discontinued, although many dealers have some on the lot. Anyways on the 4,5,6 of May Payeur is having a ''door open'' and i'll be going, maybe i could get tractor fever again:drool: and upgrade.

I have been looking at the Kiotis and called earlier today for a price on CK 35HST with FEL and BH. $24900 seems like a good deal. Financing will probably bring the price up though?

The dealer I talked to this morning told me that the DK35 w/cab was discontinued. He is outside Orillia.

I was told that the Kioti CK27 gear, DK35SE hydro, gear and cab and DK75 were all being discontinued. Past sales programs have favoured these models as well.

I have the CK30HST + Woods BH-70x. I'm thinking the quotes from dealer 1 & 2 seem high, although dealer 2 for the CK35 is closer.

I haven't heard the CK30 is being discontinued, although 3 (down from 4) tractors on the exact same frame still doesn't make sense to me and the CK27 and CK30 are too close in hp to keep them both. That said, hp sells and Kioti stands up better to the Kubota line up with the 30 over the 27. Since there's no real cost diff to make either engine, I'm guessing the 27 would go before the 30. There is also a SCUT line on the way, so thinning the other lines makes sense. Finally Tier 4 final is about to hit, so again they could be trimming the line up to reduce costs and keep the impact as small as possible.

I think the Woods bh is well worth a little extra $$. I bought mine for 2 reasons.

1) Woods offers a factory thumb option (a hydraulic option on the BH-80x)

2) The sub frame mount is significantly beefier than the Kioti, which has had some issues with breakage (do a search on TBN). The entire frame comes off with the Kioti bh which would make storage more of an issue IMO.

I don't think it's that important, but the specs on the Woods are slightly better as well. Another member posted that the diff in price between the BH-70x and BH-80x was also very small (can't remember exactly, I think it was only $450, again just do a quick search), and I would make that upgrade in a heart beat if my dealer told me the CK30 could handle it.

I'm in Ottawa, but unfortunately to the West instead of your direction. My dealer has also been spectacular, but is another hour further west again. Bromely Farm Supply in Douglas Ont., it may still be worth a call. They actually sell a ton of Kioti's and their prices are very good. Their service is even better.

I wouldn't knock the subframe on the Kioti branded backhoes. They are quite different than the Woods subframes but not inferior IMO. Each has it's advantages.

The Kioti is easier to mount and unmount. Less precise line up is needed and the lock is just a set of capture pins. Hammer persuasion works well to line things up The Woods as noted stays with the tractor while a long piece of the Kioti subframe stays attached to the BH. It never took me more than five minutes to hook up the Kioti but I sometimes have to fiddle with the Woods for 15-20 minutes before the critical pin slots are lined up in all x,y and z axises. You must use delicate hydraulic controls to line up the Woods and use of a hammer would be disastrous. The castle nut and bolt are big but delicate threads require precaution when lining things up both to attach and dismount the BH.

The Kioti Subframe is made of heavy gauge rectangular tubing. The Woods is solid 3/4" x3 or 4" bar stock. They seem about equally strong to me.

Owning both I don't have a strong preference though there is no question that the Kioti is faster to hook up if you don't stay in practice by doing it once a week.

I was told that the Kioti CK27 gear, DK35SE hydro, gear and cab and DK75 were all being discontinued. Past sales programs have favoured these models as well.

I think this makes a lot of sense for them actually. The CK27 gear is likely a low seller. The HST is more advantageous for them. The DK35SE is probably not a big seller and the difference to the DK40SE isn't that big. Plus there is overlap with the CK35. The DK75 is too expensive with no attractive features compared to the competition. They need a power shuttle in this class to compete, and the engine doesn't meet Tier IV standards. I suspect Kioti has trouble competing in the over 55 class. On the other hand, the DK55 is the only thing like it out there in terms of size and capacity. The Massey 1660 is similar and is probably a little nicer. The Deere is a nicer tractor but physically much smaller. If the DK55 had a power shuttle or HST it would have no competition.

Hi All,
I am going to venture a guess that it has more to do with Tier IV compliance than anything else. Anything over 25HP has to comply after Jan 1,2013, so why have units with such close horsepower ranges? These will be very expensive to produce and I would expect to have at least a 5 HP difference in the models to be cost effective.
Kioti is just setting themselves up to have a more diverse line-up of tractors with no overlap in HP.

I would think the CK27 in gear would be more attractive than the same model in HST. Maybe that's just me. TWISI the "best" options in the CK line are the CK27 gear and the CK35 HST. Glade I got my gear unit when I did.
