Deutz 6207 - stuck gearbox

I need some help with a gearbox problem in my Deutz 6207. The gearbox is stuck in Low range and it seems impossible to shift it, even with the top and bottom gearbox covers removed (and using various levers to try to shift the gear clusters from the top or bottom).

I obviously want to avoid splitting the tractor if possible!

Does anyone have any advice about this?

Welcome to TBN,
Gearboxes are interesting creatures and a lot like women. A good one is great to have around, but one with a problem can make you miserable. With my very limited amount of gearbox exposure, I can tell you one thing. It is probably going to be next to impossible to diagnose the problem from text or pictures unless you just happen to get extremely lucky. Assuming you have looked for shifting forks worn out, gears with teeth damaged, bearings that appear bad, etc?

Pardon for the simplistic question, but are you sure you have removed any "windup" from the transmission? Can you jack up front & back & rotate a front & back wheel in both directions whilst trying to to lever the shift forks directly?

I just had a similar thing happen a couple days ago. Because jacking the rears off the ground wasn't an option on the side of the road, I pulled the shutoff to keep it from starting and bumped the starter just a split second. It allowed the tractor to unwind itself and allowed me to find nuetral.
