Congrats, Matt! Looks to be a real clean, straight mower! But... That's an 8' double spindle, right? Probably start up easier than a single box 7', though..

Yes, double spindled 8'. The pto shaft and gear boxes are huge!

Well after a long wait and lots of snow delays the Bush Hog finally arrived yesterday afternoon. I can't say enough positive things about the dealer I purchased from 5 hrs away.
I haven't had a chance to hook it up yet but it sure is a well built beast!

That BushHog 3008 looks real good Matt I think it will work well with the 110 but might have to travel a bit slower in thick spots. That would work nicely behind my 4520 I think. I do not get many calls for brush cutting though, never could see my making enough money with it.

I agree with Larry though the 110 is short on horse power imo. I could go for another 20 hp. under the hood. I could see an M62 in my future but have to get a larger tractor first. Yesterday the last pieces of Topcon machine control equipment arrived so now I can build the system up. Been a long time coming and a lot of money spent to get to this point. Lots of peanut butter sandwiches to make this happen.:D

I also considered getting a large backhoe but think I will pass for now, I have a friend in the excavating business who can dig my pipelines for less than I can do it. Using 20 to 40 ton excavators he can dig 4' deep and 3' wide for about $1.40/ft. no way I wan't to compete with this. I provide a magnetic mount receiver, laser and cab remote when they dig for me and get excellent results with no grade checker person. I use the 110 to set the pipe and backfill, easier for me and a lot faster.

Thanks guys, a higher HP tractor is in my future so this Bush Hog was a good fit. I also got it for an incredible price(cheaper even than the MX7). The lift cylinder for the tail wheel I looks to be single acting with option to be double acting. I may get a chance to run it in a small swath of brush tomorrow.
