Well, that's EXACTLY what Jammer did in his post.
* He provided an objective and factual representation.

He used the equipment and this is what he found.
**Are you questioning his humble opinion?
*Then why is it exactly the opposite of several of the people whole have owned and operated a BX1500 for years.
Seems to me they should be more knowledgeable about the BX1500 then a guy who only tried one out for a few hours.

** When somebody says something that flies in the face of the facts it's wise to question such a statement.;)

Jammer has very little experence with the BX1500 and worse yet none at all operating the JDx744.

And yet he's got you worked into a tizzy over the supposed Kubota bashing. Let it go!!!

How about if we stop trying to figure out who's bashing what and try to help the poster?
The only useful information we've got from team 'Bota is not to rent one but to get the dealer to loan you one to mow your yard. But there was no indication as to why this could be an issue and what to check. If you'd like you can repeat the test with another 1500 from a different rental company (or even the same company). That should rule out a dud machine. I'd also check the blades on the mower; the rental yard may not have sharpened them in a while and the previous renter may have used them as a brush cutter for all we know. About the only other thing I can think of is to make sure the PTO position is in mid-only, I can certainly envision designs that severly limit the PTO HP in Mid+Rear setup even with nothing in the rear - but I've never driven a Kubota so you'll have to ask someone who has if there are any other pilot errors to look for.
:)

This sounds like a dirty/wet fuel filter. The engines get "weak" when this happens. A small contributing factor could come from the air filter. Barring those there isnt anything that impairs them much. I see a large contributing factor from comparing 15 vs 24HP.

Now that you mention it comparing 15 with 24 HP Is about like me complaining about my Toyota pick up because it won't hold as many cubic feel of gravel as a tandem axle dump truck.;)

Brilliant.

I'm just glad you finally realized this wasn't an orange vs. green thread, it was a 24HP vs. 15HP thread - it just so happened that the two tractors in question were different colors.

Okay..okay. So as it was brought up maybe renting a tractor from a rental company wasn't the best thing. I would suggest testing something from a dealer (they wouldn't likely have you test something with a problem) or talking to some people in your neighborhood or at work to see if you can take a test drive of their tractor on their lawn. That way you get an unbiased opinion (with no dealer involved). But in all reality it doesn't matter what color tractor you buy as long as it does what you need and you and your family are happy with it. Just look at everything you COULD need it for. That way you don't buy something that needs to be replaced in the future because it wasn't enough tractor. Either way best of luck and hope you make the right choice. :D

PS. Go GREEN!!! HAHA Just kidding

Try actually running the 1500. I've had one for three years and it has been a great machine. For you to say that it can't do the mid mount PTO and a rear mount PTO vac or blower is ridiculous. I run mine

I can respectfully disagree with your assessment of the BX. It is a great machine for the homeowner (which is what it is intended for!!) I have no brand bias. If it were a JD I were using and it worked fine, I'd be thrilled too. I don't need to justify my choice by bashing other brands to feel good. I just give an objective and FACTUAL representation of what the tractor or any piece of equipment can do. I have pics to prove it too!!
Do you have a front blade on your BX1500?
