Waited a few days to see if others would notice. Draft control uses hydraulics to forcibly raise the hitch under high draft conditions that would cause the tractor to slip the wheels. Down pressure feature is added to forcibly lower the hitch.

Whether anyone is a farmer or not is of no consequence.

Plow is preferred in the US and Canada, plough is used in the UK and both are considered correct in an international forum. An ugly American is a person who forces their culture on everyone else in the world.

A 3-pt snowblower sometimes "rides up" on hard drifted snow. 500 pounds of extra down pressure on an 800 or 1000 pound blower could make a big difference. This option could catch on with people doing a lot of snow removal.

Yes, but the pressure is put on the front axle, so as long as you are in 4x4 mode you actually have not lost all that much traction. So I hope that they beefed up the front axles and the rest of the driveline to be able to handle this feature if used on a regular basis.

Don't get me wrong, I am in favor of using heavy implements instead of the 3pt down pressure system. Another problem with this feature is that it makes a light duty implement cut like a heavy duty implement. Ultimately if this was relied on with a light duty implement, the implement would end up failing in some manor simply because it is not built to take the stresses that can be put on it because of the additional hundreds of pounds of down pressure that can be exerted. :eek:

All good points. Especially the stress of overloading implements. How many inexperienced operators are gonna get the post auger stuck in the ground?? :)

As a someone who does a ton of snow removal (Case 120 Maxxum with 92" inverted Normand), I can't see this being the slightest bit useful. Most people (around here at least) doing alot of snow are using 100 hp tractors with 1500# blowers. Even with my little B3300 at home, I can't see how a heavier blower would benefit me. With proper top link adjustment for pitch there is no need for additional weight. A hydraulic toplink would be FAR more useful than down pressure
