Deere 3038e battery replacement

My 2008 3038e decided it wanted a new battery :laughing: so I stopped by the tractor shop while in town and they didn't have the TY26498 in stock and would have to order it. Now I'm wondering is there a good replacement for this JD battery that I can pick up from TSC, Walmart or even Battery Plus or Autozone?

The John Deere dealer did not have that battery? Pathetic.
What dealer is that?
Surely they could have it by the next day....
I don't know a cross over number, but you could take the battery and Autozone or Napa could match it.

You could use a Group 51R battery, or possibly a 35. The 35 will be almost 1.5" wider, so make sure you measure to see if it will fit. If it will fit the 35 will probably get you a couple hundred more CCAs
