picked up the parts tuesday and cleaned everything on the crank case and cover, installed the cam, new seal on the cover, waterpump gear new oil screen and darn they did not give me the oil pump seals, guess I have to wait till monday to assemble.

seems they only picked one exhausr gasket, one head gasket and one valve cover gasket, my email clearly calls for 2.

anyone familar with the fuel pump? this is the second one and I would have figured it could be pushed by hand to pump but this thing is solid, thinking I should replace this as well

From memory I could push the lever on the fuel pump but my memory could be wrong.

this pump has about 1/4 inch free play then impossible to press, this was the second pump replaced a couple years ago and I switched to a electric pump.

I did ask re a new pump, they came back with a price of $364.00, two in stock, asked if he had the decimal wrong or why so expensing and he said he has no idea, the part number is AM-132715 common part, Amazon has them for under $30.00 free shipping so have one coming by week end.

got the motor together, no fuel pump so filled the oil, water fuel and pulled the lever out the old pump, if you have never pulled the lever out its basically a fork that pulls a diaphram down whivh as the fork returns on the cam the diaphram returns under spring pressure and sucks gas, next cycle pushes gas out and sucks the next shot,

anyway the fork had spread between diaphran plunger and side of casting locking it up, set it back up, put it in motor and turned motor over, darn same thing so the push rod riding on camshaft travels more than the pump lever will thus locking it up solid, fulled the spring and lever out of pump now its a blank to stop oil leaks.

motor started with huge plumes of white smoke from the exhaust, this cleared up and the cause was coolant leaking from head removal running down into exhaust, once it evaporated off runs like a top.

we also replaced the power steering hoses they were rubbed thro and weeping, would have needed replacing shortly anyway, still have to mount the deck and back mowing, total cost 2 days and about 800 dollars in parts.

be hard to find a mower for this price and hopefully last another 10 years

final update, the mower is working nice and does a great job, not sure if I mentioned the governor lever was not working bent and stuck when it was taken apart, fixed that prior to installing the motor.
