I am having a problem with a dealer. I put down a 10% down payment on a new 3520 Tractor,FEL, 60"MMM. and a 5' bushog. Ever since he got my money he has stalled about a delivery date. Parts were ordered 3 weeks ago and arrived last Tuesday. I was told the Tractor would be set up immediately and delivered next day. Wednesday I was in the area and went by to check on progress. NO work on Tractor but parts were there I was told. Talked to Salesman who took my money and asked about delivery date. He checked with shop and said Tractor would definitely be ready Friday and he would call to set up time so I would be home. Friday came and went and no Tractor; not even the courtesy of a phone call to explain. Needless to say Saturday Morning I got on the phone with the dealer. He was busy so he did not return my call for 2 hrs. When I got on the line with him he immediately started with excuses. I was not in the mood for this and My reply was dont call again until the Tractor is ready and I hung up. I have been mad and disgusted all weekend. I am trying to decide what to do. My wife says calm down and try to work it out. I have owned John Deere Equipment 30 yrs. and My Dad was a John Deere Dealer until he died. I have saved a long time for a tractor and I have never been treated this bad ever. Now I am trying to find info on a J.D. Rep. to let them know my problem. At this point I am seriously thinking of asking for my money back and running as fast as I can. If this the service before the sale I dont think I can put up with it. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

Whatever you do, don't change brands. Your decision to get a JD was right, especially after your dads's experience, and is the right thing to do. If necessary, change dealers only. 40 miles is not that bad a ride to find another dealer. Unless you are really out in the boonies, another dealer is within 40 miles.

Escalate the matter to the sales manager and explain the situation. They aren't off to a good start. Are there any other JD dealers in the area?

I guess I'm not as patient as lots of folks, but I'd definitely be asking for my money back and be looking for a different dealer.

In my experience, the dealer will not get any better. If they are doing this now, what will happen when you need something after the purchase. It's a dilemma. I've had problems with my dealer. They have done nothing to improve. I don't go there now. I buy my parts, accessories, and attachments elsewhere.

I would not be happy at all with that. I understand falling behind, but no call from them first /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I would definately let it be known that I was looking for other dealer and ask for money back.......then I would let them throw in a york rake or free service for your frustration. If they offer nothing, they would get nothing from me.
I will never understand why some dealers get into that job. So many good dealers, but one bad dealer can sour a customer on a brand for life. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
